The beginning of something lovely

Well this year has been a mad one hasn’t it? 2020 has been life changing for me. Maybe it was turning thirty, or maybe it was something to do with a global pandemic, but I finally decided to address some of the things that weren’t quite working in my life. From March I began working from home, and with that came a little extra time. Time I used to get some help and advice which allowed me to start living a more positive life. Part of that meant making time for the things that I enjoy, like being creative. And whilst my job as a retoucher allows me to be creative, it’s not always on my terms as I work towards client goals and aesthetics. Painting is just for me. Or it was!

I began sharing my artwork on Instagram just with friends, which in itself was quite scary. I used to be my own worst enemy. I was easy to criticise my work. But I’ve slowly learnt to overcome that annoying inner critic, made much easier with the support of my friends online. So the first thing is to say thank you for checking in. I know a lot of you have already made purchases through Etsy and I will continue to run that shop. But this website will allow me to share more of me, and I can release work specifically to my mailing list subscribers. A way of making sure my biggest supporters get first dibs! If you haven’t already, you can join the mailing list at the top of this page.

Thanks again you lovely lot. I’ll update you all with more snippets of the new collection soon.

Take care

Kate
